After delivering low voltage yesterday, SKELEC to make up for it with high voltage today

Areas of St Kitts were affected by low voltage conditions yesterday. Consumers complained of paying for service that they were not receiving. SKELEC has responded by saying that customers will be compensated in the form of extra electricity.

Today SKELEC will up the voltage in areas that were affected to 600 volts for approximately 4 hours.

Damion “Sparky” Hobbs, who is the Director of Voltagicity at SKELEC said, “We wan’t to make sure our customers are getting the service they have paid for. We believe 4 hours at roughly three times the normal voltage should make up for any electricity undelivered on the previous day.”

Actual photo of voltage from SKELEC mains entering a customers home which lasted for approximately 45 minutes and started a fire in the customer’s house. Customer was awoken by a ceiling fan above his bed which was spinning so fast that it was about to take off on its own.
